Tell us a little bit about you and your background and what made you start creating your handmade crafts?
I was learning Real Estate and spending all of my time doing that and trying to get established. My husband said he needed a hobby. Next thing I knew, we were the proud owners of 1500 ceramic molds, a pottery wheel, and a kiln!
Well, with the recession, I gave up on real estate and really got into the molded ceramics. We’ve been doing that for about 4 years, and we’re still learning so much. I have "graduated” from selling molded ceramics to handbuilding using anything with a texture. I love handbuilding so much more than molded items!
In addition to making my goodies, I work with various daycares using the molded ceramics. The kids love love love making their own precious keepsake!

What do people love most about your crafts?
I think people love the textures I use the most. I look for the most unique textures in doilies, lace, leaves, and even jewelry!
What do you enjoy most about being an artist?
I have a typical day job. Making my ceramics allows me to be the creative person I’ve always wanted to be without being tied down, and helps me unwind after a hectic day. I love how you can take a lump of wet clay, and make it into something beautiful! And there are so many things to make!
Where do you sell your crafts?
Currently I sell online through Etsy and I’m doing pretty good. I’m also experimenting with selling wholesale and on consignment, and currently I have my ceramics in three stores! And of course, I sell at craft shows! I just love meeting people and getting their feedback and ideas.
Is there anything else, you would like to share?
I am a proud mother of a darling 17 year old son! It seems like yesterday he was born! I’m learning to slow down and enjoy the best things out of life. It’s not a job (although I love the income), it’s your family!
